This week... Lacrosse and Throwing/Catching
This week in physical education, students in grades 3-5 will be learning lacrosse skills. Lacrosse is a growing sport that works on hand-eye coordination and cardiovascular endurance. Students will be learning how to cradle, pass, and shoot a lacrosse ball. If you or your child are interested in learning more about the game and playing in a league or attending a camp, click the link below and click on "contact your local regional chapter" for information about lacrosse in the area.
Students in grades K-2 are working on their throwing and catching skills. The skills they are learning now will help them participate and enjoy a variety of sports and activities as they get older.

Gymnastics
Currently we are in the middle of our gymnastics unit. Gymnastics improves our flexibility, muscular strength and endurance, balance, and coordination. We worked on tumbling skills for two weeks and now students are putting these skills into action. K-2 classes are using these skills to navigate various obstacle courses. 3-5 students are creating their own gymnastics routines in small groups and presenting them to the class.
“Gymnastics has helped me so much, how to be dedicated to something, how to work hard to achieve your goals, also to be organized, and how to try and balance my life out. I think it's helped me in school too, because it's kept me organized and I'm always striving for a goal.”
